On November 25, 2025, an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Shanghai Metro Vehicle Component Centralized Maintenance Base was successfully concluded at the Fengbang Base. An important part of the event was the certification ceremony for various maintenance centers of Shanghai Metro vehicles. NGC was honored with certification for its "Shanghai Metro Gear Transmission System Maintenance Center," marking a significant step forward in the company's professional aftermarket service capabilities for rail transportation.

Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman Bi Xiangli and Vice President Zhang Yu from Shanghai Shentong Metro Co., Ltd., along with over 70 representatives from enterprises such as Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Rail Transportation Equipment Co., Ltd. (NGC Rail Transportation), Knorr-Bremse Asia Pacific, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive, CRRC Sifang Institute, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric, and Kangni Mechanical & Electrical, gathered at the event. Jiang Jubiao, General Manager of NGC Rail Transportation, was invited to attend the ceremony. Together with representatives from all parties in attendance, he witnessed this milestone moment and contributed to drawing a new blueprint for the collaborative development of the industrial chain.

During the ceremony, Bi Xiangli, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Shentong Metro Co., Ltd., presented plaques to representatives of the centralized maintenance production lines for various components, including NGC. This marked the official commencement of the large-scale, standardized operations for the jointly established Gear Transmission System Maintenance Center. This initiative provides a robust guarantee for the safe, stable, and efficient operation of metro gear transmission systems.

During his speech, Zhang Yu, Vice President of Shanghai Shentong Metro Co., Ltd., emphasized that independence does not mean working alone—collaboration enables long-term success. He stressed the importance of advancing the transformation of specialized maintenance into full-lifecycle management and full coverage for repairs. This involves upgrading the strategy from "independent problem-solving" to "open empowerment," ensuring leaps in value, technology, and governance.

NGC Rail Transportation has always adhered to a customer-oriented approach. In partnership with Shanghai Metro, the company has driven the transformation of gear transmission maintenance from "decentralized handling" to "intensive and efficient operations." As the first jointly operated production line of its kind in China, the Shanghai Metro Gear Transmission System Maintenance Center leverages professional technical expertise, standardized workflows, lean production management principles, and precise, efficient service capabilities. It has now achieved batch maintenance of gearboxes, couplings and hanger products, setting an exemplary model of collaboration for Shanghai Metro's cooperative production lines.

Prior to the plaque-awarding ceremony, the invited guests visited the Gear Transmission System Maintenance Center. They witnessed the standardized on-site production operations, the systematic positioning of materials, the professional testing equipment, and the orderly process management systems. These factors fully reflected the overall effectiveness of the centralized maintenance model, providing the guests with a more direct and in-depth understanding of the actual capabilities in full-lifecycle management of the gear transmission system.

With no reference models available for this first cooperative maintenance production line, NGC worked together with Shanghai Metro to forge a path of "advancing hand in hand and creating the future together." Faced with current issues of phased contraction in new rail transit projects, senior management at Shanghai Shentong Metro Co., Ltd. have placed high expectations on NGC's future development. They emphasized the need to continuously advance the localization of maintenance components, expand the variety of gear transmission system repairs, and contribute more significantly to Shanghai Metro's efforts in achieving centralized component maintenance and enhancing operational and maintenance support capabilities.
