In China, rare disease patients still face a daunting struggle: difficult diagnoses, limited treatment options, exorbitant medical costs, lengthy drug development cycles, and a scarcity of domestically developed original medicines. Families of children with rare diseases bear the additional burden of financial strain, long-term caregiving, and psychological pressure. Public awareness of rare diseases remains low in China, and the rare disease community's yearning to be seen, understood, accepted, and respected awaits a collective response from society.
To rally support for the rare disease community and advance philanthropic efforts for rare diseases, NGC Group partnered with the Amity Foundation in 2024 to launch the "Love Is Not Rare" public welfare program. Centered on the real needs of patients, the program focuses on two key pillars:
I. Warm Patient Care
Ongoing, diversified patient support actions, mobilizing medical social workers, corporate volunteers, and community goodwill to deliver hospital visits, peer support salons, patient growth-sharing sessions, home visits, spring and autumn family outings, and psychological counseling for caregivers. Companionship to comfort the soul; care to lighten the load.
II. Professional Patient Education
In collaboration with hospital specialists, the program delivers rare disease awareness classes and health lectures both online and offline, produces and distributes targeted educational materials, and provides children and families with disease knowledge, rehabilitation care tips, and evidence-based home-management methods, supporting standardized treatment and evidence-based rehabilitation.

On the morning of May 27, ahead of Children's Day, the offline charity event entitled "Guarding the SMA Slow Angels, Warmth Accompanying Little Hearts" kicked off at the administration building of BenQ Hospital. NGC Group representatives, young volunteers, Amity Foundation staff, children with SMA and their families, professional medical teams, and rehabilitation therapists gathered together, united by love and companionship, to deliver heartfelt care to the brave SMA "slow angels" and send their early Children's Day wishes.
The venue was thoughtfully decorated, radiating an atmosphere of warmth and healing. Hospital managers and NGC Group's Youth League Secretary delivered opening remarks, paying tribute to the SMA children’s courage and to the families standing by their side with unwavering devotion, and expressing gratitude to the dedicated members of hospital staff, volunteers, and the caring enterprise. The event was officially underway.
Leading with Love, Acting with Purpose
A short yet solemn donation ceremony took place on site. NGC representatives and volunteers conveyed heartfelt wishes to the children, gave out care packages, and posed for photos. In this way, the company fulfilled its social responsibility through concrete action, adding warmth and hope to SMA families, letting kindness take root and flourish.

Enjoying Ourselves Together, Healing Young Hearts
A special children's performer brought gentle magic tricks and soft interactive games to the stage. Every activity was carefully designed to suit the children's physical conditions — no strenuous movement, at a calm and steady pace. Laughter chased away the shadows of illness; pure smiles shone through, and the room filled with tenderness and healing.
Celebrating Together, Sweetening Little Hearts
The most moving moment of the entire event was the group birthday celebration. Staff gave birthday hats to the children celebrating that month, and the whole room sang "Happy Birthday" together. Everyone closed their eyes, made a wish, and shared some delicious cake. Flickering candlelight and gentle voices captured a precious, beautiful memory for the SMA children.

Thoughtful Care, Warmth Every Step of the Way
Customized, mild, easy-to-digest meals suited to children's needs were prepared on site. Volunteers and medical staff assisted with every meal, balancing nutrition, safety, and convenience. Meanwhile, NGC Group had prepared a personalized care package for each child, containing nutritious snacks, educational toys, and heartfelt daily essentials, every gift overflowing with care and thought.
Throughout the event, NGC volunteers worked with clear roles and warm hearts, assisting guests, accompanying the children, maintaining order, distributing supplies, capturing moments on camera, and handling logistics. They remained kind, patient, and attentive at all times, keeping the children's safety as their top priority and ensuring the event ran smoothly and warmly.
Every child with SMA is a brave, resilient "slow angel," while every efforts deserves tenderness from the whole society. This offline "Love Is Not Rare" visit created a joyful, relaxing atmosphere for children undergoing long-term rehabilitation, easing their anxiety and lifting their spirits. It honored the unwavering devotion of the families and the tireless dedication of the medical teams, while building a bridge of kindness that connected the enterprise, the hospital, the foundation, and the families.
Love always shines through, as small lights gather into a torch. Our mission remains unchanged and our attention to public welfare never stops. Looking ahead, NGC Group will stay true to its philanthropic roots, deepening its commitment to rare disease care while accumulating more social goodwill. The company will continue to accompany the SMA children on their road to recovery and growth. May every child with a rare disease be embraced gently by the world, warm at heart, and always growing toward the light, remaining safe and joyful.
