Geared for a Better Future

On the morning of June 12th, NGC’s tenth Employee Dragon Boat Race was held at the Xuanwu Lake Dragon Boat Center. Nearly a thousand employees and members of the public arrived at the site to cheer on the competitors. Members of NGC Group’s senior management team were also invited to the grand event. It was the tenth time the dragon boat race had been held. Thanks to the great support of the leadership and the active participation of all employees, the event has become an annual carnival for everyone at NGC. The dragon boat spirit has always stimulated and motivated people to strive, explore and innovate, and to devote their morale and enthusiasm to the economic development and corporate culture at NGC.

22 teams participated in the race, which was held along a straight, 300-meter course. After six rounds of fierce preliminaries and two rounds of thrilling finals, the team from the high-speed gearbox company third factory were once again crowned champions with an impressive time of 1’ 43’’ 83. The teams from the rail transportation company and the marine gearbox factory won second prize, while the three teams from the first factory of Nanjing High Speed Gear Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the high-precision gear factory and the high-speed equipment power department won third prize. All participants fought like dragons coming out of the water, while the banging of drums and the sounds of cheering echoed in the air above Xuanwu Lake. The fighting spirit and willpower of the dragon boat racers infected every audience member present, who could not help cheering and applauding.

At the closing ceremony, Nanjing High Speed Gear Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Nanjing High Speed & Accurate Gear (Group) Co., Ltd. and Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. staged an energetic performance, full of sunshine and vigor, allowing the audience to feel the passion and energy of the people at NGC. To end the evening, a dragon drum performance of “Rising Dragon and Leaping Lion, Embracing the Future” made for a rousing finale. Everyone present wished for a more brilliant future for NGC. We will all keep our faith and live up to our mission of opening a “new chapter of gearboxes” for a new era.
