Groundbreaking Ceremony of the NGC Transmission Chennai was held in Sri City, India

(Chennai, India) On Nov 24 2019, NGC Transmission Chennai, a Wind Main Gearbox Production Factory of NGC Group, with capacity of 2000 units/year, held its Groundbreaking Ceremony in Industrial Zone of Sri City, Chennai, India. Gu Xiaobin, COO & GM of Wind Business Unit of NGC Group and G.Rethina Kumar, GM of NGC Transmission India, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Gu Xiaobin said, India is one of the vibrant economies in the world and has made tremendous achievements as one of the fast growing economies in the recent years. India’s improving urban infrastructure and supporting facilities demonstrates great development potential and vitality, and NGC has always maintained a high level of attention about the Indian market.

“In December 2016, we established NGC Transmission India to expand the business in the area of Wind Energy, Rail Vehicles and Industry and achieved good results. That’s why we have decided to continue increasing investment on Indian market and build Wind Main Gearbox Production Factory in Chennai. ” He said. It will further enhance the globalization process of NGC and develop India and other new markets.

After that, Gu Xiaobin announced the start of the groundbreaking ceremony, and planted saplings together with the guests present at the ceremony, watered saplings with the water of hope, to witness the project setting sail. Zhu Quansheng, Vice GM of Wind Business Unit of NGC Group, Chen Yong, Senior Director of NGC Group, Leaders of Sir City Industrial Zone, Partner Representatives, etc. attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

As a supplier of wind power transmission equipment with a global market share of over 30%, NGC has started globalization by establishing regional headquarters in the USA, Europe and Asia Pacific in recent years. The factory based in Sri City is scheduled to complete by second half of next year, which will mainly be used to produce Wind Main Gearboxes and Pitch and Yaw Drives. The initial capacity is 1000 units/year, and it can be expanded to 2,000 units/year on the basis of market demand. Besides, this factory will generate over 200 direct jobs and relevant indirect employments opportunities, according to Gu Xiaobin.
