Located in Nanjing Jiangning Science Park, Nanjing High Accurate Drive Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NGC) has gradually transformed from the original Nanjing Machine Tool Repair Factory in 1969 into the present Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed company (00658HK). Since entering the wind power industry in 2004, NGC has evolved into an internationally-known leading domestic wind power drive equipment manufacturing enterprise during these 10 years. In 2009, NGC was in the Top 3 among wind turbine gearbox suppliers worldwide. Along the way, NGC has risen based on its accumulated strength from its innovative thinking and actions. Now, NGC has set a course for sustainable development by actively implementing international strategy and upgrading chain value management.

When it comes to sustainable development, it is well known that China has been travelling on the road to sustainable development. What is the path to sustainable development like? NGC’s sustainable development leads to the same destination as the national economy’s concept of sustainable development. On this journey, NGC needs to empower the company with ultra-strong anti-risk abilities through transforming a variety of thoughts and policies, on top of engaging in relentless self-improvement. This way, no matter how stormy the market is, NGC’s vessel will sail smoothly forward.

What makes NGC confident in realizing this vision? Doctor Gou Jianhui, Director and General Manager of NGC Gear Group, summarizes as follows:

One. Prospective positioning ushers in sustainable development.

Since entering the industry, NGC has become the leading wind turbine gear box researcher, developer, and supplier worldwide. The company has prospectively positioned itself as a supplier of wind power drive equipment and solutions, so as to provide a full set of produced plans, including comprehensive products, technologies, and services. Through this, the company realizes its own sustainable development, adding value for customers.

As a leading domestic gearbox and drive equipment manufacturing enterprise that is known internationally, NGC has successfully won over a hundred national and provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, awards for outstanding new products, new product certificates, high-tech product certificates, high-tech enterprise certificates, et cetera, and has more than 200 national patents in various fields.

With ten years of hard work, NGC has developed at a steady pace. The wind power industry has formed one of NGC’s core business elements. It is widely recognized by users at home and abroad, and has become the strategic supplier and partner of pilot enterprises in many fields. All of these positions direct the company down the path of sustainable development.

Two. Technology, management, research, development, and innovation go hand in hand, making the leap on to the path of sustainable development.

In order to realize sustainable development, it is prerequisite for a company to possess excellent product technology, a complete and outstanding management system, and conduct continuous innovative research and development.

As a world-leading enterprise developing and manufacturing highly accurate and highly performing wind power gearboxes, NGC is currently capable of bulk supplying wind power gearboxes 6MW and below. The products have been certified by GL, DEWI, TUV, CCS, CGC, ETL, UL, CE, and so on, with overall performance having reached an advanced international level. Their mass production was achieved in order to supply its product to first-class users both at home and abroad. The gearbox ratio can be re-mixed, and the gearboxes of wind model, plateau model, high-temperature model, and low-temperature model may be designed according to the users’ requirements. Advanced and complete technology enables NGC to keep ahead of the industry and gives it an important leadership role among its international counterparts, lighting their sustainable development path.

NGC has established and completed its exclusive management system by drawing on experience from all over the world. Firstly, the company implements initiatives to develop wind power, gearboxes, and other elements simultaneously in regards to business management. Each industry is distributed to both domestic and overseas markets, which diversifies development risk through balanced, multi-faceted development. Secondly, NGC adopts a streamlined management approach regarding production operation, enabling employees to develop efficient ways of working. This increases employees’- and the overall organization’s- work efficiency remarkably, allowing the company to improve performance, cut cost, and create streamlined team with personnel and wealth. Finally, NGC continually optimizes its talent management system. Three, Stride into sustainable development through international strategy.

NGC has so far acquired great advantages in technology, management, markets, and brands, and has accumulated a great deal of energy. However, a broader development platform is also needed that will depend on guidance of ambitious goals to fully translate this potential energy into a more practical value. The larger stage of the international market has provided more space for NGC to further exert its competitive advantage.

Approximately 30% of NGC‘s wind power gearbox market share is overseas, and 70% is domestic. Currently, NGC strives to simultaneously stabilize its market share in China, which involves taking the initiative to visit clients and promoting itself, and explore its overseas market potential in multiple ways. Self-improvement and perfection are certainly of utmost importance in this process. As different countries have cultures and ideologies quite different from each other, communication and services will encounter certain obstacles. NGC’s international strategy is, therefore, not a simple issue of sales volume. NGC makes some internal adjustments regarding their management systems and internal operation procedures according to overseas customers’ needs, so as to adapt to foreign market. All these processes are also a harvest for NGC itself; they contain improvements not only regarding technology or management, but rather are a substantive improvement on an overall level.

Now, NGC is experiencing a positive development trend on overseas market. In the Americas, the operation & maintenance centers and service outlets that cover North America and parts of South America were put into operation in 2008; in Asia, NGC Singapore Ltd. serves the Middle East, Asia and Oceania markets and started operations in 2014; in Europe, the operation & maintenance centers are to be established shortly. From the previous year until now, NGC has invested millions of U.S. dollars in foreign market layouts, which will further improve NGC’s branding and international service quality. This allows NGC to achieve global sustainable development.

The NGC management team has determined its mid- and long-term development guidelines, which is to bring satisfaction to customers, employees, and shareholders, and to assume social responsibility.
